Client


A client is software that receives data from a server. Second Life is a client, also known as secondlife.exe (formerly newview.exe), which features a propietary 3D engine, a GUI, the Havok physics engine, the FMOD sound API, JPEG2000 compression, and other technology (more details).


Client-side is something that only affects the client and not the server. Some client-side functions are:
